Make a test call
You're on step 6 of 7.

By the end, you'll have made a real call from your own number, used the in-call controls, and seen the transcript and summary VXT creates.
Your number doesn't need to have moved yet. You can call out on it while the move is pending.
- Click the dialing bar at the top of the screen (Start a call…).
- Type your cell number, or pick a teammate you've invited, and click to call.
- Answer on your cell. While you're on the call, look at the call menu:
- Mute: mute your microphone.
- Notes: type notes as you talk. They save with the call.
- Transfer: pass the call to a teammate.
- Hold: put the caller on hold.
- Record: start or stop recording. The button turns red while it's recording.
- Keypad: press numbers, for phone menus.
- More (⋮): check your audio settings and add people to a conference call.
- Hang up: end the call.
- Talk for 30 seconds, then hang up.
- The post-call screen opens. Tidy up your notes, and check the call's transcript, summary and recording.
- On the right, under your integrations, pick the matter to save the notes, transcript and summary to. If you skipped connecting your practice management software in step 1, skip this.
- Click Save. The notes, summary, a link to the transcript and recording, and the billable time are saved to the matter in your practice management software. Where they show up, and how they look, depends on which one you use.
- The call now shows in the Phone tab on the left. Open it any time to see its details, transcript, summary and recording.
You're done when the call is saved and shows in the Phone tab with its transcript and summary.
Is every call recorded? It depends on the recording setting you chose in step 3. A call needs to be recorded to get a transcript and summary: if recording is off, you'll still have your notes, but no transcript or summary.
Can't find the transcript? It can take a minute to appear after you hang up. Open the call from the Phone tab on the left.
