NetDocuments and VXT launch document and notetaking integration for attorneys

VXT, the AI notetaker built for law firms, has announced an integration with NetDocuments, a leading cloud-based document management system for legal teams.

The VXT-NetDocuments integration brings conversations from phone calls and meetings into NetDocuments as a structured file note.

Luke Campbell, CEO and Co-Founder of VXT, says conversations that shape a matter have always lived outside the file and believes this integration is “a way of closing that gap”.

"A large amount of the work attorneys do on a matter happens on the phone or in meetings," Campbell says.

“A lot of this work never makes it into the matter file.

“The notes taken from calls and meetings often get left in the phone system, Word document, notebook, or in someone's memory.

“That’s what we’re hoping to address with this integration”.

The integration with NetDocuments becomes more useful when paired with VXT's existing integrations with a firm's practice management system, like Clio, 8am MyCase or Actionstep.

VXT already integrates with those systems to display client information on incoming calls and save all important details from phone calls (including transcripts, summaries, and billable time) against the right matter.

In the same way, call and meeting transcripts and summaries can be saved to the correct workspace in NetDocuments.

Campbell says capturing what happens on calls and in meetings into document and practice management systems matters more than ever.

“The AI built into tools like Clio, Actionstep, MyCase and NetDocuments can only work with what's already in the system,” Campbell says.

“So if the conversations never make it in, neither does all of the context around the matter.”

“By bringing calls and meeting notes into that record, the integration gives your legal AI the side of the story it's never been able to see — what was said, not just what was written down.”

For NetDocuments, this integration is the only one of its kind that saves conversations from calls and meetings directly into its document management system.

The VXT–NetDocuments integration is the latest addition to VXT’s growing ecosystem of legal tech solutions, joining almost 30 existing integrations with legal software like LEAP, Smokeball and Filevine.

Law firms across the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand rely on VXT to track time, take notes, and manage calls.
