8am Kaleidoscope 2025 Highlights

Missed Kaleidoscope 2025? No worries. Here’s a quick recap of the conversations, ideas, and highlights from 8am’s first-ever customer conference in Austin, Texas.

What is Kaleidoscope?

Kaleidoscope is 8am’s new flagship event. It’s a chance for attorneys, firm leaders, and industry partners to step back, connect, and think about what’s next for their practices.

This was 8am’s first user conference and it arrived at a big moment for the company. Just three weeks earlier, the company rebranded from AffiniPay to 8am, bringing its products under one name: LawPay, MyCase, CasePeer, DocketWise, SmartSpend, and more.

Across two days, the program mixed product updates, hands-on training, and plenty of networking. Customers got a chance to connect with peers, better understand how to make the most of 8am’s tools, and gave direct feedback to the product teams.

Alongside the product sessions, there were standout talks from industry experts. Lucine Aghajanyan-Cohen, founder of LT Global Practice Management, spoke about eliminating operational chaos and building teams that run without daily oversight. And Bob Ambrogi, veteran legal tech journalist and host of LawNext (and a past File Notes podcast guest), shared insights on how generative AI and automation are reshaping the business of law.

For 8am, Kaleidoscope was both a product showcase and a listening post. It was a chance to demonstrate what a unified platform can mean for small and midsize firms, while also learning directly from the people using it every day.

Highlights of an event unique to Austin

Kaleidoscope didn’t just deliver on great sessions, it felt distinctly Austin. A few standout moments:

  • Cowboy boots: In true Texan style, free Tecovas boots fitted onsite in a “boot corral” became the most talked-about swag of the week.
  • Charity spotlight: The 8am Cares table raised over $10,000 for Ronald McDonald House, proving conferences can give back as well as connect.
  • Austin-style send-off: The closing night party had it all. Live music and plenty of boot-swingin’ energy.

What we heard from firms at Kaleidoscope

From VXT’s perspective (we’re the phone system built for lawyers), Kaleidoscope echoed a lot of what we heard at our File Notes Live event in Austin.

If you missed that event, you can read the recap here. The same themes kept coming up in both rooms: better tech adoption, stronger team alignment, and the importance of building firms that run on systems, not just people.

“Discussing challenges other law firm owners face and brainstorming solutions, as well as best practices that sets them apart in the industry, was very insightful.”

Thanks for a great debut!

Kaleidoscope 2025 was a blast. We loved connecting with so many incredible attorneys and partners.

VXT was proud to be part of Kaleidoscope’s debut. It was a well-run first outing for 8am that was ambitious in scope but grounded in real conversations with firms.

Big thanks to the 8am team, the speakers, and especially the firm leaders who showed up ready to share openly. Those practical conversations are what make events like this truly valuable.

Looking forward to seeing you all again at next year’s Kaleidoscope in Las Vegas!

Try the VXT + 8am MyCase Integration

VXT is one of 8am MyCases most popular integrations. It integrates with 8am MyCase to display client information on incoming calls, and to automatically save all of the important details from your phone calls (like your billable time and full call transcriptions) into 8am MyCase against the right legal matter.

Book in a free demo to get a walkthrough of the VXT + 8am MyCase integration. We’ll show you how this integration can save your firm time, smooth operations, and free your team up for higher-value work.
