As VXT has evolved from a voicemail transcription app into a phone system built for law firms, we’ve made the decision to wind down our legacy voicemail-only product.
VXT Voicemail will be discontinued in 2026. Customers will be notified via the mobile app and email before services are stopped. Where relevant, refunds will be provided.
We truly appreciate the support from those of you who have been with us from the beginning. To help with the transition, we’ve put together a few recommendations for how you can continue transcribing your voicemails.
Option 1: Upgrade to VXT Phone
You may choose to upgrade to VXT Phone. However, if you have been using VXT solely for transcribing voicemails, you may not benefit from the broader set of features that come with upgrading to VXT’s full phone system.
If you use VXT for business purposes with a business number (and particularly if you are a lawyer or accountant), there may be a strong case for upgrading to VXT Phone. If you choose to upgrade, please keep in mind that available features may vary depending on your location:

VXT Phone is charged on a per-user subscription basis. You can read more on our pricing page.
Option 2: Move to a different visual voicemail provider
If you decide VXT Phone is not the right fit for you, here are some alternative visual voicemail options (please note geographic support may vary):
- Check if your mobile provider offers visual voicemail
- Check if your phone offers built-in visual voicemail (for example, visual voicemail is available on modern iPhones running recent versions of iOS)
- YouMail
- Google Voice
- Instavoice
- HulloMail
- Voxist
- Cricket Visual Voicemail
Option 3: Go back to your mobile service provider's normal voicemail services
If you’d prefer a simpler option, you can switch back to your mobile provider’s standard voicemail service.
To do this, you will need to turn off VXT Voicemail.
Instructions for how to turn off VXT Voicemail can be found in this support article.
