VXT, the AI notetaker built for law firms, has announced an integration with iManage, one of the most widely used cloud-based document management systems for legal teams.
The integration takes conversations from calls and meetings and turns them into structured file notes that can be saved directly to the correct matter in iManage.
Luke Campbell, CEO and Co-Founder of VXT, says important parts of a matter happen in conversations that rarely ever make it into the file and sees this integration as a way to change that.
"A matter is really built on conversations," Campbell says.
“On calls, in meetings, in the back-and-forth that never gets written down.
"The problem is that almost none of it reaches the file.
“It's in a recording somewhere, or a set of scribbled notes, or just in someone’s head.
"So the actual thinking behind a matter ends up living apart from the matter itself.
"This integration closes that gap…it takes what was said and decided on a call or in a meeting and puts it straight into the matter in iManage, alongside everything else.”
Attorneys can make and take calls in VXT and see client information the moment a call comes in. VXT records those calls and acts as an AI notetaker across calls and meetings.
For iManage, this is the only integration of its kind that works by saving the important details from legal conversations directly to the correct matter.
This becomes even more useful when paired with VXT's existing integrations with a firm's practice management system, like Actionstep.
With the AI features being rolled out across many platforms, Campbell says getting what happens on calls and in meetings into a firm’s document and practice management systems matters now more than ever.
"The AI in tools like Actionstep and iManage are only as good as the information they’re fed," Campbell says.
"And right now, a huge amount never reaches it at all, because so much of what's discussed on calls and in meetings sits outside the file.
"So the AI is working on a matter with only part of the picture.
"By bringing calls and meeting notes into that record, the integration gives your legal AI the side of the story it's been missing — what was spoken, not just what was typed.”
The VXT–iManage integration is the latest addition to VXT’s growing ecosystem of legal tech solutions, joining almost 30 existing integrations with legal software like Clio, 8am MyCase and Smokeball.
Law firms across the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand rely on VXT to track time, take notes, and manage calls.
