VXT Co-Founder and CEO Luke Campbell has been named the winner of the Steinlager Entrepreneurship & Leadership Award at the 2025 Robert Walters New Zealand Leadership Awards.
The award recognises leaders who use their resilience, innovation, and vision to drive change and inspire progress.
Luke couldn’t make it on the night, so VXT Chief Revenue Officer Will Burry accepted the award on his behalf (which feels pretty fitting). While the award had Luke’s name on it, it belongs to the whole VXT team.
A journey of leadership and resilience
As CEO, Luke has steered VXT through plenty of highs and lows over his eight years at the helm. In the past year though, it’s been a straight line pointing up and to the right as the team has:
Expanded its customer base across New Zealand, Australia, Canada, the UK, and the US.
Grown headcount to almost 30 staff worldwide.
Reached $2.5M NZD in Annual Recurring Revenue in 2024, and on track to triple that to $7.5M by the end of 2025.
From spinal fusion surgery as a teenager, to taking on personal debt during the pandemic, to building one of NZ’s fastest-growing legal tech companies, Luke’s story is one of grit, risk, and perseverance. Exactly what the Leadership Awards are about.
A collective achievement
Will, who represented VXT at the event, emphasised the team-first culture that has been central to VXT’s growth.
“Luke and I met 15 years ago at high school,” Will shared.
“Five years ago, he texted me out of the blue asking me to quit my stable job and take a chance on his start-up.
“It’s been a pleasure over the past five years to watch him grow into the leader he is today; someone who always has the back of his team, pushes us to the extreme, and is there to support as well.
“While this award only has one name on it, it’s only possible because of the hard work of everyone at VXT.
“Thank you to our clients who trust us with their firms, and to the mentors who have guided and supported us along the way.”

The Robert Walters New Zealand Leadership Awards celebrate leaders who rise to challenges, navigate change, and drive progress across all sectors.
Now in only its second year, the awards shine a light on professionals making a real impact in their industries.
What’s next for VXT?
With plans for new features like AI-powered note-taking in person and virtual meetings, a virtual receptionist, and even a replacement for Microsoft Teams, VXT is pushing to redefine how law firms work.
This award is a milestone for Luke, but it’s also proof of the growing global impact of VXT.
